Description

The professional development workshops that In2Hula runs for early learning service teachers are designed to support ELS to meet the requirements of the Heart Foundation Healthy Heart Award, but are also of value in terms of general skill learning.  The workshops teach basic hula hoop moves and a variety of hula hoop based activities that you can do with young children.  The workshops are most effective when experienced in conjunction with the In2Hula facilitated activity sessions with children: the children’s sessions work as an illustration of what is taught in the workshops so teachers gain a greater understanding if they experience both.

Each workshop is 1.5 hours long

The workshop is a practical, hands-on learning experience.  The manual that is taught in the workshop is included as a downloadable ebook that participants can use to refer to after the workshop.

Workshop content includes:
General benefits of hula hooping

Hula hoop activities and the Ministry of Education’s early childhood curriculum

Warm up activities

Hoop safety

Waist hooping

Other easy hoop moves: Halo, Weave, ISO twist down, Pass Around, Coinspin

Moving with the hoop: cars, carriages, spaceship

Musical hoops

Stories with hoops

Cool down activities
