Over the years I have done many types of exercise, walking, running, cycling, gym and swimming, never did I ever think that hula hooping was an exercise until it was presented to me in 2008 as a way to trim up the waistline, and if you are like me we are always looking for that very thing that will help us keep our figure.

Now hula hooping I weave into my routine of gym, and walking.  It is an exercise that you can have so much fun with and it has so many benefits.

  1. Cardiovascular fitness: Hula hooping gets the heart rate up.  Every minute you are burning calories.
  2. Core strength: The motion of keeping the hula hoop spinning around your waist engages and strengthens your core muscles, including your abdominals and lower back.
  3. Coordination and balance: Hula hooping requires coordination between your hips, hands, and feet, helping to improve your overall balance and motor skills. 
  4. Calorie burning: Hula hooping can burn a significant number of calories, which make if an effective way to support weight loss or your weight management goals.
  5. Stress relief: Engaging in rhythmic, repetitive movement like hula hooping can reduce stress and is quite relaxing. It releases endorphins, the body’s natural stress relievers. 
  6. Regular hula hooping can help improve flexibility in your hips and spine, as well as agility in your movements. 

Overall, hula hooping has given me a full fun and versatile way to stay fit, active and helping improve my overall health and zest for life.
