Over the years I have done many types of exercise, walking, running, cycling, gym and swimming, never did I ever think that hula hooping was an exercise until it was presented to me in 2008 as a way to trim up the waistline, and if you are like me we are always looking for that very thing that will help us keep our figure.
Now hula hooping I weave into my routine of gym, and walking. It is an exercise that you can have so much fun with and it has so many benefits.
- Cardiovascular fitness: Hula hooping gets the heart rate up. Every minute you are burning calories.
- Core strength: The motion of keeping the hula hoop spinning around your waist engages and strengthens your core muscles, including your abdominals and lower back.
- Coordination and balance: Hula hooping requires coordination between your hips, hands, and feet, helping to improve your overall balance and motor skills.
- Calorie burning: Hula hooping can burn a significant number of calories, which make if an effective way to support weight loss or your weight management goals.
- Stress relief: Engaging in rhythmic, repetitive movement like hula hooping can reduce stress and is quite relaxing. It releases endorphins, the body’s natural stress relievers.
- Regular hula hooping can help improve flexibility in your hips and spine, as well as agility in your movements.
Overall, hula hooping has given me a full fun and versatile way to stay fit, active and helping improve my overall health and zest for life.
